My upgrade

I booked King superior room with new furniture on the pictures. But first they gave me the room with the very old carpet and furniture and bathroom, very bad. So I asked to change the room because on booking.com there were other pictures. Not from the first time, but the guy on reception agreed and gave me the other good room with the bath!

Location & cleanliness

The A/C on 14th floor was completely down (especially the fan system because the cooling is off since the weather is cold) so there weren’t any ventilation & it was very hot & no fresh air, called them & they didn’t care & didn’t changer the room, also the shower bath was plugged & the water was not discharging.

Beautiful location in the business district.The river/ pond garden/park behind the hotel is unique. It is filled with walkways, bridges and modern restaurants. The breakfast at the hotel is outstanding, variety and quality is very high. Variety of in-house restaurants for lunch and dinner. Strong room service. Beautiful rooms, and the renovation is still ongoing. Amenities are excellent. Very friendly and attentive staff. They use translator apps effectively, when necessary. The price we paid was probably 1/3 of US or 1/5 of Europe prices for comparable service.

Good location, and very clean rooms

I had high expectations for Kempinski Hotel Beijing, especially because it’s a 5-star hotel. I expected excellent customer service and professional front desk staff, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The information provided on Booking.com was misleading — the bed size in reality was much smaller than what was described online. Because of this issue, I had to pay an additional 600 RMB to get an extra bed. Overall, it was a frustrating and unpleasant stay that did not meet the standards of a five-star hotel.

The Location was spot on, right at the centre, metro is just close by and has got a serene river flowing with some top places to unwind and relax. Special Mention to Quincy Li & Daisy Liu for their outstanding service excellence traits and the way they took immense care of even smaller details of .y requirements was impressive. You need to invest in such young talents and they were top ambassadors for the Kempinski Brand.Loved my stay, will come again!

I still can smell a cigarette at the walkway to the room.

Good breakfast, comfortable bed and bathroom

Air condition doesn’t automatically switch off by the panel. To switch it off i gotta call 2 technical guys who took the panel out of the ventilation system.

Very convenient hotel. Great view and very nice and helpful staff. Service is one of the biggest advantage of this hotel.

Was told upon entry they decided to upgrade my room. Didn’t see the one I booked so no way to tell. All the sockets on one side of the room wasn’t working but there were enough not to complain. Clean, spacious, free mini bar (maybe that was the upgrade come to think of it). I enjoyed my stay. The bath was my favourite. It was perfect and I’d happily stay again. Shout out to Alan Zuo and the rest of the team managing the front desk… but Alan was very warm welcoming and friendly.

but quite old hotel. They need to decorate the lower floor room for a good customer experience.

Perfect room on higher floor with view on river and skyline with worldwide #10 skyscraper CITIC (over 500m tall) on the horizon; amazing breakfast buffet (both chinese- and western-style) with wonderful service from Signature restaurant personnel; perfect hotel location with easy access to subway station Liangmaqiao on L10

The hotel is excellent! It is very clean, congratulations to the cleaning ladies because they did an amazing job. The breakfast is delicious and the personnel was kind and helpful (they also know english). The bed was very comfortable.

The hotel is a bit old, but it doesn’t affect the quality of the experience. Despite the fact that the breakfast is varied, they don’t do refills to foods that are finished. You need a shower cap for the pool, and if you don’t have one, you need to buy it at the pool desk with an extremely overpriced value.

Exceptional breakfast - wide choice of European and Asian buffet. All fresh, tasty and in great atmosphere. I really enjoyed lazy breakfast there. Worth to highlight breakfast is served from 6 am, so even if you plan to leave hotel early you have a chance to enjoy it.
